Formally approved at the City Council’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday (20th May), we will be pleased to welcome our newly appointed Leader of Milton Keynes City Council, Councillor Jane Carr to speak at this formal dinner.
Jane is the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group and represents the Newport Pagnell ward. She has served as a city councillor for eight years, having first been elected in May 2018, and she brings a wealth of experience from both local government and her professional career.
She has previously served as Cabinet Member for Tackling Inequalities and Child Poverty, where she developed a strong track record in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing communities. Her work focused on efforts to reduce child poverty and inequalities, while also promoting public health, skills development, higher education and youth services.
Councillor Carr is also an independent social worker, bringing valuable frontline experience in supporting vulnerable individuals and families. She brings wider local government experience, having previously served as borough councillor and worked within a county council.
